Trying Tuesday

DS 15 m had a unexpected bout of vomiting in the wee, small hours this morning, thankfully it's contained. Nonetheless it was still quite scary. Quite out of character for him as he's usually robustly-healthy(never been sick up to now). I wonder what brought that on? The oppressive heat? the egg that papa gave him ; the eggs that made mummy retch(We don't usually consume eggs). Very late brunch: spinach, banana, goji, flax, chia and white matcha smoothie; okay not as nice as the GREEN smoothies. This resembled ...!

Review : The Mother Magazine

I was fortunate to get my mitts on a copy of The Mother Magazine this week, so here's my 2 cents worth! A lovingly-created bi-monthly, parenting magazine like no other, it is a joy to read from cover to cover. This publication would make a fine gift for mothers, sisters, grandmothers etc. it is based on the sound principals of natural or intuitive parenting; a wholesome publication which is both uplifting and informative,if you ever stuck for ideals for the ultimate gift for that special female you can't go wrong with this printed, restorative gem of a magazine. Why not treat yourself to a subscription today, you'll be glad you did! Created by a mother for mothers / parents / carers it's the only magazine worth reading in my humble opinion. It's available here. I have not been paid for this post. All opinions are my own. The cover and content have a unique and traditional feel aesthetic, which I personally love along with lovely, personal family photos sent in by mother readers. This wondrous publication is printed on recycled paper from a sustainable source. A magical, cosy treat to be savoured for sure!

Project: Growing Wheat grass for Juicing from seed!

Having purchased the Aconbury Sprout's Organic Wheat grass Growing from the lovely folks at Goodness(an established Christian business for over 3 decades), having first seen it in Wholefoods Kensington a good while(I held back as one could not justify paying their prices). I am presented with 3 seedling trays, 3 packages of organic spelt seeds , 3 neat packages of organic compost and the step by step instruction sheet( Thank You Aconbury Sprout folks for making it easy for us to enjoy the wondrous healthy benefits of wheat grass shots:-) Day 1: Germination commences...............

Sunny Saturday!

Brunch: Green Smoothie: kale, watercress, frozen ripe banana, 2S.Asian mangoes and water! so good I shared this with my 15m son:-) Lunch: 2 soft-boiled eggs, followed by some tasty air-dried beet chips* and mixed seeds! Supper would probably include a treat like some gluten-free cake:-) * The beet chips are excellent addition to a growing child's diet as they taste great( If you are anything like me and love raw beets you'll love them:-) containing nothing but (-dried) plus the antioxidant, vitamin c; great healthy alternative to the fried potato chip for sure! Bear loves them:-)

Glutton for Punishment ?!!!

Unconsciously ate(aka shovelling lunch down at record speed) despite the repercussions, leading to a trigger wheat binge at bedtime. I'm a law onto self for sure! I'm an angel with a water-based alkaline diet and satan with acidity. When will I learn?! Happy Independence day to all my American friends:-)

Wheat is poison for sure....

Well for this individual anyway! I've got the usual IBS symptoms of spasmodic inflammation, bloated belly etc. the trigger being wheat as in supermarket scones and pasta:'(:'(:'(:'( I can't afford to feel poorly with a dependent child that needs my undivided attention, I also need to retain nutrients in good food(not wheat)so the gluten will have to go!
